Spanish Maternity Leave Sub Plans, 6 Weeks, A2 Review, Spanish 2, Any Grade, 30 Days of No Prep Sub Plans for Spanish Class, 380 Pages

$49.99

Plan once, and your Spanish 2 classes have thirty days of review waiting. My Spanish maternity leave sub plans give your classes six binders of long term sub plans: 30 days of level A2 review, one set a day for every class, in middle school or high school. I built the six weeks as a complete A2 review: every A2 grammar point, each practiced on at least two days, plus a Big A2 Review day at the end of Week 6. Every task (each review set, calm block, team task, game and Monday opener) starts with a "Say this to the class" box: two or three sentences in English that tell students what to do and how to start, so the sub needs no Spanish. Every day has individual work (the set and a calm vocabulary block) and a team task for groups of four, plus an optional Spanish game on that day’s lesson as a fun way to end the class. No prep, no tech: print and go. I see this set as a strong start for the first weeks of a maternity leave, and it works just as well for a medical leave, a family leave or any absence of about six weeks.

Perfect For

  • The first six weeks of a maternity leave, so your Spanish 2 classes start the leave with a plan for every day
  • Six weeks out: surgery or medical leave, a family leave, a long illness
  • A long-term sub who speaks no Spanish: every instruction is in English and every answer is in the key
  • Spanish teachers with several Spanish 2 classes: one set covers every class that day
  • A full review of level A2 before a final exam or before Spanish 3, when nothing new should be taught
  • Your sub tub or emergency sub folder, ready before you need it

How It Works

  1. Print the six binders and leave them on your desk. Week 1 covers days 1 to 5, Week 2 days 6 to 10, Week 3 days 11 to 15, Week 4 days 16 to 20, Week 5 days 21 to 25 and Week 6 days 26 to 30. Each binder has its own week plan on page 4, already filled in with page numbers and minutes.
  2. The sub reads the "Say this to the class" box at the top of the task, then runs the day’s review set in every period. Each set is one period (45 to 55 minutes) of written work, and every set ends with a challenge for fast finishers.
  3. The calm vocabulary block (learn 8 words, then a quiet self-test) is for early finishers or a loud moment, the team task for groups of four fills a block period or extra time, and the game is optional fun for the last 15 minutes.
  4. Every set stands alone, so each plan is only a sample order: move any set to any day. Each set opens with a line that says what it reviews, so you can match it to what your class has covered. Day 30, the Big A2 Review, works best last.
  5. Instructions are in English and every answer is in the key at the back of each binder, so the sub needs no Spanish. Prefer your own order? Each binder includes a blank weekly schedule.

What the Sub Gets

  • A note to the substitute in each binder: the daily routine, how the challenge works, and what to do if the class is loud
  • A "Say this to the class" script for every task: each Monday opener, review set, calm block, team task and game (126 in all), two or three sentences in English that say what students do, how (on their own, in pairs, in teams or as a whole class) and the first step
  • A step by step sub script for each Monday opener, and a "Read this out" box on most games
  • Each week plan already filled in with page numbers, a blank schedule, a class list and a "how it went" page
  • Every answer in the key, including the challenges

Helpful Details

Written for Spanish level A2 (Spanish 2, CEFR A2), in any grade from middle school to high school. Review only: every set goes over material the class has already covered, and nothing is taught for the first time. Across the six weeks every A2 grammar point is practiced on at least two days, and Day 30 is the Big A2 Review: two game boards and a final round with an item for every point. Days 1 to 29 each have their own topic, review set, team task, game questions and calm vocabulary. Each set fills one period (about 50 minutes), and the team task fills a block period. Each filled-in plan is a sample order: every set stands alone. No tech needed: nothing needs a login, a projector or student devices, just pencil and paper, plus scissors and tape for a few cards and game boards. Weeks 2 to 6 of this course are never sold alone; this is Weeks 1 to 6 in one download. Week 1 reviews the same five topics as my one-week Spanish A2 Review sub plans, now with a say-this script on every task, and Weeks 1 and 2 are the same as my 2-week Spanish A2 sub plans. I see these binders as a strong start for the first weeks of a maternity leave, not the whole leave: your classes have a solid plan while the longer plans are settled.
