Spanish Long Term Sub Plans, 4 Weeks, A2 Review, Spanish 2, Any Grade, 20 Days of No Prep Sub Plans for Spanish Class, 253 Pages

$34.99

The sub reads a script aloud for every task, and Spanish 2 runs for a month. These Spanish long term sub plans cover a 4 week absence in Spanish 2 with four complete binders of level A2 review: 20 days, one set a day for every class you teach, in middle school or high school. Every task (each review set, calm block, team task, game and Monday opener) starts with a "Say this to the class" box: two or three sentences in English that tell students what to do and how to start. Across the four weeks I built the sets to review nearly all of the A2 grammar list: the preterite and the imperfect and when to use each, the present perfect with its irregular participles, tú, usted and ustedes commands, object pronouns, gustar, doler, parecer and interesar, comparisons, por and para, possessives, demonstratives, estar plus gerund, acabar de and ir a. Every day has individual work (the set and a calm vocabulary block) and a team task for groups of four, plus an optional Spanish game on that day’s lesson as a fun way to end the class. No prep, no tech: print and go.

Perfect For

  • Four weeks out: surgery or medical leave, a family leave, a long illness
  • A long-term sub who speaks no Spanish: every instruction is in English and every answer is in the key
  • A vacancy or a late hire, when a Spanish 2 class needs a month of solid review
  • Spanish teachers with several Spanish 2 classes: one set covers every class that day
  • Review weeks before a test or after a break, when nothing new should be taught
  • Your sub tub or emergency sub folder, ready before you need it

How It Works

  1. Print the four binders and leave them on your desk. Week 1 covers days 1 to 5, Week 2 days 6 to 10, Week 3 days 11 to 15 and Week 4 days 16 to 20. Each binder has its own week plan on page 4, already filled in with page numbers and minutes.
  2. The sub reads the "Say this to the class" box at the top of the task, then runs the day’s review set in every period. Each set is one period (45 to 55 minutes) of written work, and every set ends with a challenge for fast finishers.
  3. The calm vocabulary block (learn 8 words, then a quiet self-test) is for early finishers or a loud moment, the team task for groups of four fills a block period or extra time, and the game is optional fun for the last 15 minutes.
  4. Every set stands alone, so each plan is only a sample order: move any set to any day. Each set opens with a line that says what it reviews, so you can match it to what your class has covered.
  5. Instructions are in English and every answer is in the key at the back of each binder, so the sub needs no Spanish. Prefer your own order? Each binder includes a blank weekly schedule.

What the Sub Gets

  • A note to the substitute in each binder: the daily routine, how the challenge works, and what to do if the class is loud
  • A "Say this to the class" script for every task: each Monday opener, each review set, each calm block, each team task and each game (84 in all), two or three sentences in English that say what students do, how (on their own, in pairs, in teams or as a whole class) and the first step
  • A step by step sub script for each Monday opener, and a "Read this out" box on most games
  • Each week plan already filled in with page numbers, a blank schedule, a class list and a "how it went" page
  • Every answer in the key, including the challenges

Helpful Details

Written for Spanish level A2 (Spanish 2, CEFR A2), in any grade from middle school to high school. Review only: every set goes over material the class has already covered, and nothing is taught for the first time. Across the four weeks the sets review nearly all of the A2 grammar list; they are not a complete A2 course. The four weeks have their own topics, review sets, team tasks, game questions and calm vocabulary, twenty days and twenty topics in all. Each set fills one period (about 50 minutes), and the team task fills a block period. Each filled-in plan is a sample order: every set stands alone. No tech needed: nothing needs a login, a projector or student devices, just pencil and paper, plus scissors and tape for a few cards and game boards. Week 1 reviews the same five topics as my one-week Spanish A2 Review sub plans, now with a say-this script on every task, and Weeks 1 and 2 are the same as my 2-week Spanish A2 sub plans. Weeks 2 to 4 are never sold alone; this is Weeks 1 to 4.
