High School Physics Sub Plans, Week Long Emergency Sub Plans, No Prep, 5 Days, 62 Pages

$9.99

Out for a week? Every physics period is planned, Monday to Friday. These science sub plans give your substitute five days of physics review, one set per day for every period, ready as emergency sub plans, long term sub plans or a no prep sub binder for high school physics. Each set is a physics review packet with worked examples, practice and a challenge on motion graphs, forces, momentum, energy, waves and circuits, plus team tasks, optional review games, early finisher puzzles and answer keys, so a sub with no science background can run it. No tech needed. Print and go for a planned absence, a sub tub, a substitute teacher binder, or emergency lesson plans on a sick day.

Perfect For

  • A full week out: sick leave, a conference, jury duty, a family emergency
  • A sub who does not know your subject or your class
  • Teachers with several Physics sections: one set covers every period that day
  • Your sub tub or emergency sub folder, ready before you need it
  • Long term subs who need a first week that runs itself

How It Works

  1. Print the binder and leave it on your desk. The week plan on page 4 is already filled in, with page numbers and minutes for every set.
  2. Monday’s set runs in every period you teach on Monday, Tuesday’s set on Tuesday, and so on. The calm puzzle fits any gap, the team task fills a block period, and the game is optional fun for the last 15 minutes.
  3. Every set stands alone, so the plan is only a sample order: swap sets between days, or use one with another class when it fits. Each set opens with a line that says what it reviews.
  4. Every answer is in the key, so the sub needs no subject knowledge.
  5. Prefer your own order? A blank weekly schedule is included.

What’s Inside: 62 Pages

  • A sub binder front section: a note to the substitute, the week plan already filled in Monday to Friday with page numbers, a blank weekly schedule, class list and dismissal, a “how it went” sheet, and a Monday opener (Meet Your Sub)
  • Physics set 1, Kinematics and Motion Graphs: reviews distance and displacement, speed, velocity and acceleration, the kinematic equations, free fall, reading position time and velocity time graphs
  • Physics set 2, Newton’s Laws and Forces: reviews Newton’s three laws, net force, F = ma, weight with g = 9.8 N/kg, sliding friction, reading free-body diagrams
  • Physics set 3, Momentum and Collisions: reviews momentum p = mv, impulse and change in momentum, conservation of momentum in collisions and push-offs, elastic and inelastic collisions
  • Physics set 4, Energy, Work and Power: reviews work, kinetic and gravitational potential energy, conservation of energy on a roller coaster, power and efficiency
  • Physics set 5, Waves and Circuits: reviews parts of a wave, wave speed v = f times wavelength, sound and light basics, Ohm’s law, series and parallel circuits, electrical power
  • Physics team tasks, one per day (about 40 minutes, groups of four): The Speed Lineup; The Cabin Power Plan; The Paper Bridge; The Skid Mark Inquiry; The Solar Roof Debate
  • Optional Physics games for the last 15 minutes, a fun way to end the class or something for extra time, with physics questions for grades 9 to 12: Whiteboard Quiz Game; Paper Password; Class Feud; Classroom Millionaire; Mystery Box
  • Calm puzzles and reset sheets for early finishers or a loud moment: Word Search and Reset Sheet; Sudoku and Grounding Sheet; Secret Codes and Control Sheet; Maze and Brain Dump; Word Ladders and Three Good Things
  • Answer keys for every set, puzzle, team task and game
