High School Business Sub Plans, Week Long Emergency Sub Plans, No Prep, 5 Days, 62 Pages

$9.99

Out for a week? Every business period is planned, Monday to Friday. These business sub plans give your substitute five days of Introduction to Business review, one set per day for every period, ready as emergency sub plans, long term sub plans or a no prep sub binder for high school business and CTE classes. Each set is a business review packet with worked examples, practice and a challenge on entrepreneurship, marketing, business math and break-even, management and the business plan, plus team tasks, optional business review games, a daily business vocabulary block and answer keys, so a sub with no business background can run it. No tech needed. Print and go for a planned absence, a sub tub, a substitute teacher binder, or emergency lesson plans on a sick day.

Perfect For

  • A full week out: sick leave, a conference, jury duty, a family emergency
  • A sub who does not know your subject or your class
  • Teachers with several Business sections: one set covers every period that day
  • Your sub tub or emergency sub folder, ready before you need it
  • Long term subs who need a first week that runs itself

How It Works

  1. Print the binder and leave it on your desk. The week plan on page 4 is already filled in, with page numbers and minutes for every set.
  2. Monday’s set runs in every period you teach on Monday, Tuesday’s set on Tuesday, and so on. The calm vocabulary block fits any gap, the team task fills a block period, and the game is optional fun for the last 15 minutes.
  3. Every set stands alone, so the plan is only a sample order: swap sets between days, or use one with another class when it fits. Each set opens with a line that says what it reviews.
  4. Every answer is in the key, so the sub needs no subject knowledge.
  5. Prefer your own order? A blank weekly schedule is included.

What’s Inside: 62 Pages

  • A sub binder front section: a note to the substitute, the week plan already filled in Monday to Friday with page numbers, a blank weekly schedule, class list and dismissal, a “how it went” sheet, and a Monday opener (Meet Your Sub)
  • Business set 1, Entrepreneurship and Business Ownership: reviews sole proprietorships, partnerships, corporations, LLCs and franchises, their pros and cons, and spotting a real business opportunity
  • Business set 2, Marketing: reviews the 4 Ps of the marketing mix, target markets and segmentation, analyzing an ad, estimating a market and planning a product launch
  • Business set 3, Business Math and Finance: reviews revenue, fixed and variable costs, profit, markup and margin, the break-even point from a table and a chart, reading an income statement
  • Business set 4, Management and the Workplace: reviews the four functions of management, leadership styles, human resources, reading an org chart, workplace ethics and customer service
  • Business set 5, The Business Plan: reviews the sections of a business plan, mission statements, a SWOT analysis of an invented business, start-up costs and funding, and the structure of a pitch
  • Business team tasks, one per day (about 40 minutes, groups of four): The Shelf Space Question; The Launch Week Budget; The Shelf-Ready Package; The Hiring Decision; The Supplier Deal
  • Optional Business games for the last 15 minutes, a fun way to end the class or something for extra time, with business questions for grades 9 to 12: Whiteboard Quiz Game; Paper Password; Class Feud; Classroom Millionaire; Mystery Box
  • A calm vocabulary block for each day, for early finishers or a loud moment: students learn 8 new business terms, turn the page over and test themselves quietly (match, word hunt, story gaps, unscramble, mystery word), then check with the answer strip: Learn and Test: Ownership Words; Learn and Test: Marketing Words; Learn and Test: Finance Words; Learn and Test: Workplace Words; Learn and Test: Business Plan Words
  • Answer keys for every set, vocabulary test, team task and game
