Three Rounds, Three Word Types

  • Verbs: whisper, gallop, scribble, tiptoe
  • Nouns: meadow, lantern, puddle, chimney
  • Adjectives: fluffy, gigantic, slippery, gloomy

How the Game Works

  1. Two teams, or pairs. Each team picks a guesser, and guessers face away
  2. The password appears. Teammates take turns giving ONE-WORD clues
  3. One guess after each clue. First team to say the word wins it

The 3 Rounds

Round 1 is verbs, round 2 is nouns, and round 3 is adjectives. Ten passwords each, all concrete everyday words a grade 3 to 5 student already knows, so the game reviews vocabulary rather than stumping the room. Every word is editable, so any round can become your own spelling or word study list.

Why It Works at This Age

Students do not have to define the word, only recognize it from their teammates’ clues. That makes it reachable for younger players while still doing real vocabulary thinking, because knowing the round is verbs or adjectives is what shapes the clues.
