Science Vocabulary Review Game, Taboo Style Card Game, Grades 6-12

$4.99

Describe photosynthesis when sunlight, sugar and chlorophyll are banned. This science vocabulary review game is ready in Google Slides, PowerPoint and print, with 100 terms across life science, earth science, physical science and chemistry.

Good For

  • Locking in unit vocabulary before a lab report or a test
  • Bell ringers, Fridays, sub days, and the tail end of a period
  • Students who can label a diagram but cannot explain it out loud

How a Round Runs

  1. A table of 6 splits into 3 pairs and shares one tablet or one pile of cards
  2. The describer sees the term. A checker from another pair reads the same card
  3. 60 seconds of describing. Every term the partner guesses is one point
  4. Say a banned word and that card scores nothing. Pass the tablet along

Why It Works

  • Blocking the four obvious clues is what pushes students into real explanation
  • The card stays on the describer’s screen, so the rest of the table never sees it
  • 100 terms, so one purchase carries four units of the year
