Middle School Advisory Sub Plans, 2 Weeks, Long Term Sub Plans for Grades 6-8, SEL Lessons, No Prep, 136 Pages

$17.99

Ten advisory days, two binders, and nothing left for you to plan. These middle school advisory sub plans cover two full weeks for grades 6-8, ready as long term sub plans with SEL lessons for advisory or homeroom. Every day has individual work (a review set and a calm block) and a team task for groups of four, plus an optional game as a fun way to end the class. Week 1 covers goal setting, study skills, conflict resolution, digital citizenship, and kindness and community. Week 2 covers growth mindset, time management, friendship and peer pressure, managing stress and emotions, and respect and diversity. No prep: print and go for a two-week absence, a planned leave, or a good start for a longer absence before your own plans take over.

Perfect For

  • Two weeks out: surgery or medical leave, a family emergency, a school trip, jury duty
  • A good start for a longer absence: the first two weeks of a long term sub, before your own plans take over
  • A sub who does not know your advisory or your class
  • Advisory or homeroom teachers with several periods: one set covers every period that day
  • Your sub tub or emergency sub folder, ready before you need it

How It Works

  1. Print both binders and leave them on your desk. Week 1 covers days 1 to 5 and Week 2 covers days 6 to 10. Each binder has its own week plan on page 4, already filled in with page numbers.
  2. The sub runs the day’s review set in every period. Students work on their own, and the set ends with a challenge for fast finishers. The calm block (a puzzle page and a reset sheet) is for early finishers or a loud moment, the team task for groups of four fills a block period, and the game is optional fun for the last 15 minutes.
  3. Every set stands alone, so the plan is only a sample order: move any set to any day.
  4. Every answer is in the key at the back of each binder, so the sub needs no subject knowledge.
  5. Prefer your own order? Each binder includes a blank weekly schedule.

Helpful Details

Written for middle school advisory, grades 6 to 8, and it works for homeroom or an SEL block too. Each set fills one period (45 to 55 minutes) and ends with a challenge that stretches it to a block period. The two weeks share no topics, review sets, team tasks or game questions, so a class never gets the same lesson twice. Each filled-in plan is a sample order: every set stands alone. No tech needed: nothing needs a login, a projector, student devices or supplies beyond pencil and paper. Weeks 2 to 6 of this course are never sold alone; this is Week 1 + Week 2. Week 1 covers the same five lessons as my one-week Middle School Advisory sub plans.
