Written At the Level, Not Cut Down

Every article was written to A2 from the first word. The texts use Perfekt and Präteritum, Wechselpräpositionen, adjective endings after der, ein and no article, weil, deshalb, dass and wenn, Konjunktiv II, Passiv Präsens, relative clauses and reflexive verbs. Nothing in here is a harder article with the difficult words swapped out, which is why a second year student can finish one in a single lesson.

One Grammar Article Per Module

The eight grammar articles follow the order a standard A2 course uses, one article per module. Module one is unser and euer, the Perfekt and Präteritum review, the Wechselpräpositionen and nouns built with -er and -ung. Module two is the adjective endings after the indefinite and the definite article, plus über and von an. Module three is Konjunktiv II with könnte and sollte, the preposition zwischen, adverbs like montags, weil and deshalb, and the endings after no article. Module four is dass, the reflexive verbs and wenn. Module five is als, the Passiv Präsens and the order of the dative and accusative objects. Module six is the indirect questions with ob, the local prepositions and the verbs with prepositions. Module seven is the Präteritum of the modal verbs, the question word welch-, the demonstratives and the verb lassen. Module eight is bis and seitdem, the relative clauses in the nominative and accusative, and the Präteritum.

A Complete A2 Review

Run the eight grammar articles in order and you have a full A2 review, one module at a time, with the reading articles as the comprehension practice in between. I wrote them alongside the Menschen A2 course, so they follow that order module by module, but every article practises standard A2 grammar. That means they work for reviewing any A2 content, whichever course you use, and you can just as easily pull the single article that matches the unit you taught this week.

Marking Together on Screen

The deck is built for the moment after students have written on paper. Open the article in Present mode and click. Gap one fills in, in green. Click again for gap two. Students mark their own sheet as you go, so you are not reading out fourteen answers while half the room loses its place. The contents page links to every article and the Contents button on every slide brings you back.

Windows, Mac, and Chromebooks. Print the PDFs, project the slides, or do both. No student devices or logins required.
