German Numbers Worksheets 0 to 1,000,000: 5 Printable Sets with Pronunciation, Practice, Reading and Speaking Games, Answer Keys

$7.99

From null to eine Million, in five sets my students can say out loud. These German numbers worksheets cover numbers in German 0-10, 1-100, 1-1000 and on to 1,000,000, with speaking games, pronunciation for English speakers, practice with and without help and a short reading task in every set.

Perfect For

  • German 1 and first year German, middle school, high school, homeschool and adult classes
  • A numbers unit from the first week (0 to 10) all the way to prices, years and city sizes
  • Print and go lessons, homework, sub plans, small groups and tutoring
  • Speaking practice that goes past worksheets: phone numbers, a flea market, an auction, an estimation quiz

How Every Set Runs

  1. Learn: two pages with every number, a say it like guide for English speakers, and how Germans really use the numbers
  2. Practice with help: a word bank on the page
  3. Practice without help: the prompts are in digits, so no answer is printed on the page
  4. Use it: a short German text with questions answered in numbers, then a number profile about yourself
  5. Speak it: cut apart partner cards, then an open group game
  6. Check it: teacher notes and a full answer key

Why Teachers Love This Pack

  • Five sets, one number range each, so you teach the numbers in the order your course needs them
  • Every set ends with real speaking, not another worksheet
  • No prep. Print one set, or the whole pack

Pronunciation for English Speakers

Every Learn page shows how each number sounds to an English speaker, with the stressed beat in capitals: zwei is tsvy, sieben is ZEE-ben, zwanzig is TSVAN-tsikh. The sounds to know box explains z, w, v, ei, ie, eu and ch once, so students can read any new number on their own.

How Germans Really Use Numbers

The second Learn page in every set is about life in Germany: writing a German 1 and 7, counting from the thumb, saying zwo on the phone, the 1 to 6 school grades, prices with a comma, Tempo 50, the Pfund, the Erdgeschoss, years said in hundreds, and why a German Billion is a US trillion.

Practice That Checks Itself

The practice pages are built so that nothing gives an answer away: the word bank is only on the with help page, the without help page prints its prompts in digits, and every answer in the key was checked twice.
