Fraction Pictionary: Recognizing Fractions with Drawing, Grades 3-6

$4.99

This fraction pictionary is a fraction review game for grades 3 to 6 in Google Slides, PowerPoint or print, with 100 cards across part of a whole, part of a set, equivalent fractions and mixed numbers.

Three Ways to Use the Same Deck

  1. On your own: read the card, draw it, turn to the answer key and see how you did.
  2. With a partner: one draws, the other guesses, then swap.
  3. As a group: the artist draws at the board and everybody else works it out on paper.

Good For

  • Fraction review that gets every student drawing, not just watching
  • Math centers, early finishers, tutoring and homework
  • Fridays, sub days, and the last 20 minutes of a period
  • Solo, with a partner, or as a group, from the same deck

How a Round Runs

  1. One student takes a card. Nobody else sees it
  2. About 60 seconds to draw it. No talking, no words, no numbers
  3. Everyone else draws their own answer on paper, or calls out what they think it is
  4. Reveal the answer. The correct model drawing appears next to what they drew

Why It Works

  • No points and no winners. The talk about why a drawing is right is the review
  • Every one of the 100 cards has a model answer drawn to scale, so the parts really are equal
  • Four visual families, so students stop thinking fractions are only slices of a circle
