Week Long Sub Plans for Kindergarten, Emergency Sub Plans for Every Subject, No Prep, 5 Days, 101 Pages

$14.99

Out for a week with a class of five-year-olds? I have you covered. These kindergarten sub plans work as kindergarten emergency sub plans, long term sub plans or a ready sub binder, with math, reading, writing, science and social studies for every day of the week. Every day is no prep kindergarten sub work: counting and numbers to 20, letters and sounds, drawing and labeling, plus a team task, an optional game and a calm block each day: 41 sets on 101 pages, with answer keys for the substitute teacher. The sub reads every box out loud, so children never have to read the directions on their own, and every student page adds a star challenge for early finishers. No tech needed. Print and go for a planned absence, a sub tub, a substitute teacher binder, or emergency lesson plans on a sick day.

Perfect For

  • A full week out: sick leave, a conference, jury duty, a family emergency
  • A sub who does not know your subject or your class
  • Your sub tub or emergency sub folder, ready before you need it
  • Long term subs who need a first week that runs itself

How It Works

  1. Print the binder and leave it on your desk. The week plan on page 4 is already filled in, with page numbers and minutes for every set.
  2. The sub runs the day’s sets from the plan, with a calm puzzle, a team task and an optional game fitting in around them.
  3. Every child does the core task on each page. Early finishers go on to the star challenge, so stronger students always have more to do. A read-aloud icon marks everything the sub reads out loud.
  4. Every set stands alone, so the plan is only a sample order: swap sets between slots and days, or use one with another class when it fits. Each set opens with a line that says what it reviews.
  5. Every answer is in the key, so the sub needs no subject knowledge.
  6. Prefer your own order? A blank weekly schedule is included.

What’s Inside: 101 Pages

  • A sub binder front section: a note to the substitute with a supplies list for the week, the week plan already filled in Monday to Friday with page numbers, a blank weekly schedule, a class list with a “starts with the challenge” column, dismissal, a “how it went” sheet, and a Monday opener (Meet Your Sub)
  • Built-in differentiation on every student page: a core task for everyone and a star challenge for early finishers, with the harder items kept in the challenge. A read-aloud icon marks every box the sub reads out loud, so children never have to read the directions on their own. Primary handwriting lines are used wherever children write words
  • Five themed days, each with its own friendly animal on that day’s pages: a fox on Monday, a beaver on Tuesday, a squirrel on Wednesday, an owl on Thursday and a crab on Friday
  • Five math sets, one per day: Count and Write to 10; More, Fewer, Same; Shapes and Where They Are; Put Together, Take Away; Teen Numbers and Measuring
  • Five reading sets, one per day: First Sounds; Rhyme Time; Story Time; Short a Words; Sight Words and Facts
  • Five writing sets, one per day: Trace and Write Letters; Draw and Label; I See; My Favorite; First and Then
  • Five science sets, one per day: My Five Senses; Living and Nonliving; Push and Pull; Seasons and Weather; Growing Up
  • Five social studies sets, one per day: Me and My Family; Rules Keep Us Safe; Helpers and Their Tools; Feelings and Friends; A Picture Map
  • Team tasks, one per day (about 15 minutes, in pairs): Shape Robot; Partner Counting Hunt; Sort the Picture Cards; Pattern Train; Our Garden
  • Optional games for the last 15 minutes of the day, a fun way to finish or something for extra time, each played from the script: Letter and Number Bingo; Whiteboard Quiz Game; Listen and Move; Rhyme or Not; Mystery Box
  • Calm puzzles and reset sheets for early finishers or a loud moment: Letter Path and Breathing Star; Color by Number and How I Feel; Cat Dot to Dot and Counting Stretches; Shape Patterns and Quiet Choices; Garden I Spy and My Happy Place
  • Answer keys for every set, puzzle, team task and game

Helpful Details

Written for kindergarten. Each set fills one slot of the day (15 to 20 minutes), and the star challenge fills a few extra minutes for early finishers. The filled-in plan is a sample order: every set stands alone, so you can move any set to any slot or day, or use one with another class when it fits. No tech needed: nothing needs a login, a projector or student devices. Every child needs a pencil, and the note lists the few extra supplies by set (crayons, scissors and glue or tape for one team task, and a whiteboard for one game). Every set, puzzle, team task and game has its answer key in the back.
