Science Vocabulary Password Game, Middle and High School Science Review, Google Slides and PowerPoint

$4.99

Clue MEMBRANE in one word without saying cell. This science vocabulary game for grades 6 to 10 covers life science, earth and space and physical science in the classic Password format, in Google Slides or PowerPoint. Project it, or print the word cards.

Three Rounds, Three Strands

  • Life science: cell, organism, habitat, predator, enzyme
  • Earth and space: erosion, volcano, glacier, atmosphere, eclipse
  • Physical science: friction, circuit, velocity, density, voltage

How the Game Works

  1. Two teams, or pairs. Each team picks a guesser, and guessers face away
  2. The science term appears. Teammates take turns giving ONE-WORD clues
  3. One guess after each clue. First team to say the term wins it

Perfect For

  • Science vocabulary review that is not a word search
  • Unit warm-ups, exam review, Fridays, sub days
  • No projector? Play with the printable cut-apart cards

Description

What’s Included

  • The editable game with 30 science terms in 3 rounds and a clickable round picker. Google Slides ready, plus a PowerPoint version with the game show sound effects
  • Printable cut-apart word cards, one sheet per round, for playing without a projector
  • Rules page and a 2-team score sheet
  • Color and ink-saver black and white, US Letter and A4

The 3 Rounds

Round 1 is life science, round 2 is earth and space, and round 3 is physical science. Ten terms each, spanning grades 6 to 10 so the same game works in a middle school class and in an intro high school course. Every term is editable, so any round can become the unit you are teaching right now.

Why It Works in Science

Science vocabulary is where students hide behind memorized definitions. A one-word clue does not allow that. To clue ENZYME or VELOCITY your students have to reach for the idea itself, and the obvious giveaway word is banned, so you hear who actually understands the unit.

Works On

Windows, Mac, and Chromebooks. Project the slides or print the cards. No student devices or logins required.
