High School Chemistry Sub Plans, Week Long Emergency Sub Plans, No Prep, 5 Days, 64 Pages

$9.99

Out for a week? Every chemistry period is planned, Monday to Friday. These science sub plans give your substitute five days of chemistry review, one set per day for every period, ready as emergency sub plans, long term sub plans or a no prep sub binder for high school chemistry. Each set is a chemistry review packet with worked examples, practice and a challenge on atoms, bonding, the mole, gases, and acids and bases, plus team tasks, optional review games, early finisher puzzles and answer keys, so a sub with no science background can run it. No tech needed. Print and go for a planned absence, a sub tub, a substitute teacher binder, or emergency lesson plans on a sick day.

Perfect For

  • A full week out: sick leave, a conference, jury duty, a family emergency
  • A sub who does not know your subject or your class
  • Teachers with several Chemistry sections: one set covers every period that day
  • Your sub tub or emergency sub folder, ready before you need it
  • Long term subs who need a first week that runs itself

How It Works

  1. Print the binder and leave it on your desk. The week plan on page 4 is already filled in, with page numbers and minutes for every set.
  2. Monday’s set runs in every period you teach on Monday, Tuesday’s set on Tuesday, and so on. The calm puzzle fits any gap, the team task fills a block period, and the game is optional fun for the last 15 minutes.
  3. Every set stands alone, so the plan is only a sample order: swap sets between days, or use one with another class when it fits. Each set opens with a line that says what it reviews.
  4. Every answer is in the key, so the sub needs no subject knowledge.
  5. Prefer your own order? A blank weekly schedule is included.

What’s Inside: 64 Pages

  • Chemistry set 1, Atomic Structure and the Periodic Table: reviews protons, neutrons and electrons in atoms and ions, isotopes and average atomic mass, groups and periods, electron shells, periodic trends
  • Chemistry set 2, Bonding and Naming Compounds: reviews ionic and covalent bonds, the octet rule, writing ionic formulas from ion charges, naming ionic compounds with Roman numerals, covalent prefixes
  • Chemistry set 3, The Mole and Stoichiometry: reviews molar mass from a printed table, grams, moles and particles, mole ratios from balanced equations, mass to mass stoichiometry, limiting reactant
  • Chemistry set 4, Gases and States of Matter: reviews kinetic molecular theory, states and phase changes, reading a heating curve, kelvin conversion, Boyle’s, Charles’s, Gay-Lussac’s and combined gas laws
  • Chemistry set 5, Solutions, Acids and Bases: reviews solutes and solvents, molarity, dilution, the pH scale with whole-number pH values, neutralization, titration, reading indicator colors
